February 2007 : Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 wins the Virus Bulletin 100% award for effective protection of Windows Vista-based systems. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 passed the test with flying colors: it detected and removed 100% of all the malicious programs used in the test. Virus Bulletin experts also mentioned the product’s easy-to-use interface, its high performance and file scanning quality. For providing a high level of security for home platforms based on the Windows Vista operating system, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 was recognized as one of the best IT security products on the market and received the Virus Bulletin 100% award.
February 2007 : Kaspersky Lab’s Enterprise Security software has been named as a finalist in four categories of this year’s prestigious SC Magazine Awards Europe. Kaspersky® Enterprise Security is nominated as a finalist in the following categories: Best Anti-Malware Solution; Best SME Security Solution; Security Product of the Year; and the Innovation Award for technology. The SC Magazine Awards showcase the best products and services in the information security industry and are voted for by both readers of the international IT security magazine and an independent judging panel. The SC Magazine Awards highlight the very best of the security industry and attract around 1300 nominations each year. The awards reward excellence and are unrivalled in terms of prestige.
January 2007 : Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 has been rated as one of the best software products in XtremPC ratings. XtremPC, a Romanian magazine, is one of the oldest and most authoritative publications for PC users. Every year the magazine’s readers vote to select the best software solutions among those available in the market. Based on the voting results, winning products are given awards. Among advantages that the magazine’s readers mentioned were the high performance of the product and the user-friendliness of its interface.
November 2006 : In November, Home PC Magazine published the results of a comparative test in which various firewalls available on the Russian market were tested for effectiveness. The firewall built into Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 demonstrated the most reliable protection against external network attacks and total control over unauthorized network activity of applications. Also, the fact that this is an integrated solution that provides comprehensive protection against various Internet threats did not prevent Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 from receiving the top marks for user-friendliness and ease of use even for inexperienced computer users.
November 2006 : German magazine PC Magazin conducted a series of tests which compared ten software solutions with integrated protection for home computers. According to the November issue of the magazine, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, a product developed by Kaspersky Lab, came out on top by scoring the greatest number of points (92 out of 100) and was awarded the “Excellent” mark. The editors emphasize that the Kaspersky Lab product is easy to use and at the same time provides comprehensive protection of the computer against all types of contemporary IT threats. Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 also delivered exceptionally high virus detection results. “In terms of virus detection levels the scanner definitely belongs among of leaders,” say the magazine’s experts. The experts of PC Magazin also mentioned the advantages of checking file checksums (only new and modified files are scanned, while files that have not been modified since the previous scan are automatically marked as “clean”).
November 2006 : Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 is one more Kaspersky Lab product to win comparative tests conducted by the German edition of ComputerBild magazine, reported in issue 24/2006. The product won the test by a large margin, leaving other Internet security products behind. As a result, it received the “Test-Sieger” (Test Winner) award. According to the magazine, “Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 has demonstrated a high level of detection for all types of malicious programs. In a long-term test the solution on average detected new malicious programs within 24 minutes.” This was made possible by a built-in heuristic analyzer and quick updating of antivirus databases. Top marks were awarded to the firewall included in Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0. The product was also given the “Excellent” mark for low consumption of system resources. Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 also became winner in the “Preis-Leistungs-Sieger” (price/performance ratio) category.
November 2006 : Kaspersky Lab Business products have been awarded the ‘Recommended for Business’ commendation by SecureIT magazine, for the categories ‘Best Value’ and ‘Most Effective’ anti-virus product for businesses. It was also ranked as one of three overall winners in a comprehensive comparative review of anti-virus products for enterprise organizations. SecureIT tested 10 of the most popular and highly-rated anti-virus products, with specific focus on the issues that impact businesses such as value, effectiveness, ease of use and installation, support and administration. Kaspersky Lab was rated as a ‘phenomenal buy’ in the value category. SecureIT said: “The cost of this, coupled with the effectiveness, blew our testers away…Kaspersky represents almost unbelievable value. This is a phenomenal buy!” In the ‘most effective’ category, the magazine said: “Kaspersky’s record in independent virus testing over the last three years is impeccable and they only seem to be getting better.” With a high ranking of the solution’s effectiveness and ease of use, the test further highlighted Kaspersky Lab’s ability to protect every aspect of a business, including protecting different platforms and environments, “from Windows Workstations to real-time protection of Samba Fileservers and Handhelds”. Overall, Kaspersky Lab scored 9/10 in the test.
November 2006 : Kaspersky Lab has received an award from Australia’s NetGuide magazine for its new-generation product for personal protection, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0. The product has received the publication’s top award. The latest issue of the magazine’s Buyers’Guide included a review of Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, an integrated solution that provides protection against viruses, hacker attacks and spam. According to the magazine, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 is a reliable solution for integrated protection of personal computers from various contemporary threats. The magazine’s experts also emphasized the speed with which objects are scanned and the quality of protection from phishing attacks. Based on the test results, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 received the top rating of 5 (Excellent).
October 2006 : Kaspersky Lab has received a VirusBulletin 100% award for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows File Servers. Virus Bulletin, a respected publication in the field of computer malware, regularly conducts tests on antivirus solutions to determine their effectiveness in protecting users and organizations from computer threats. “Just two files missed in a more than extensive virus collection, absolutely no false positives – and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 gets a well-earned 100% in our tests,” reports the Virus Bulletin editorial board.
